2011 ARRA Incentive Ready

ModuleMD EMR and Practice Management solutions have stayed ahead of the curve to provide customers with an interoperable, data-based approach to medical record capture, display and transmission. ModuleMD seeks to fulfill the objectives of the HITECH ACT as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 which states incentive guidelines for EMR adoption by physicians. Providers can rest assured knowing that they will be incentive ready with ModuleMD.

ModuleMD Version 6.x will be released on November 01, 2009 and is targeted to meet the current published guidelines for “meaningful use” so that providers can claim the government incentives effective January, 2011. As the government publishes pertinent rules for ‘meaningful use’ the same will be incorporated in the versions to follow. Some specific features offered by ModuleMD Version 6.x include:

  1. Electronic Capture of Vital Signs, Assessment and Follow-up
  2. Progress Notes for every encounter
  3. Customizable Templates
  4. Comprehensive CPOE
  5. Integrated eRx with Allscripts
  6. Incorporated Lab results
  7. Patient Communication
  8. Customizable EHR for Practice needs
  9. Interoperability ready
  10. Quality Measures and Outcomes Reporting
  11. Certification based on HITECH Act requirements

Regarding Certification:

The Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee workgroup has recommended that multiple organizations be accredited to perform and provide certification services. It also recommended that the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for HIT defines the certification criteria and develops the accreditation process for certifying organizations. ModuleMD is committed to acquiring the exact certification that the ONC designates for incentives eligibility. ModuleMD is cautious not to hastily obtain the existing certifications that are available, however popular, so that customers have exactly what the ONC requires (In fact, the ONC may not even require certification in order to receive incentives). As soon as the ONC announces its requirements, ModuleMD will fully comply. Existing and future customers of ModuleMD can be certain, similar to the successful implementation of its incentive-based eRx solution, that ModuleMD is capable of delivering the most meaningful and efficient EMR solution.

  The ModuleMD Difference:

ModuleMD is in a unique position to know what solutions are really needed by a physician practice because of the company’s successful services division. The services division utilizes ModuleMD software solutions to manage and offer various Practice Management services to its customers. The services division is well aware of all practice needs in advance, and is therefore able to drive the enhancements in its software solutions through effective planning and execution. Consequently, ModuleMD software and service customers enjoy the benefits of these enhancements free of cost. Furthermore, there is no major up-front commitment and no cost to buy user licenses and hardware.

With the Application Service Provider (ASP) business model, customers only pay for what they use. Customers have the freedom to leave without the worry that they are heavily invested financially as is the case with many other systems in the market today (significant sunk costs will be of no concern).

The web-based ModuleMD system offers sophisticated yet user-friendly EMR and Practice Management integrated solutions that are focused on revenue cycle management (transparency) and are continuously updated. The low investment and low downside risk makes this a win-win situation for any practice. Practices that need specialty-configured solutions should start working with ModuleMD now to reap the long-term benefits for 2011 and beyond.
